Sourdough Philly Sandwich

Thinly sliced steak with carmelized onion, melted cheese and finished with a perfect creamy garlic dill sauce to bring all of the flavors together.

Ingredients

  • sourdough bread sliced
  • thinly sliced steak
  • provolone cheese

Dressing

  • mayo
  • garlic
  • dill

Instructions

  • Make sourdough bread! Slice the bread.
  • Fry a steak and thinly slice it. You can also buy thinly sliced beef and fry that in oil with salt and pepper.
  • In a skillet, sauté onion until it turns caramelized. Slightly salt the onions.
  • In a separate bowl make the dressing by combining mayo, garlic, dill. Mix well.
  • On each sourdough bread slice, spread about a tsp of the dressing on both sides (only the insides).
  • Add cheese, steaks, onion.
  • Close the sandwich and bake or skillet fry on each side until golden.
  • Serve hot.
