Ingredients

  • 3 cups raw milk
  • 1 cup raw honey

Instructions

  • In a dutch oven or any heavy bottom saucepan, combine the milk and honey over medium heat. Stir well to ensure the honey is fully incorporated into the milk.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer while stirring constantly. Be careful not to let it boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low and continue simmering the mixture for about 45-60 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • As the mixture cooks, it will gradually thicken and reduce in volume. Keep a close eye on it to ensure it doesn't scorch.
  • After 45-60 minutes of simmering, the mixture should have thickened significantly, resembling the consistency of condensed milk - slightly thinner than the store, it will become thicker the next day after being refrigerated. The color will start to change to more of a cream color. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  • Pour the condensed milk into a mason jar and allow the sweetened condensed milk to cool down to room temperature.
  • Once cooled, transfer to the fridge. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
