Officially Off Grid

Sharing is caring!

I can officially say we live FULL TIME off the grid.

We don’t rely on the national grid to provide energy or power to our home. Therefore we don’t pay any utility bills. It’s our job to find a source for energy. Most of the people around us have a solar system set up.

Besides the solar system, you can also use a generator. We have been loving the predator 3500 Watt super quiet inverter generator. I like it because it starts with a button, not a pull to start so it’s easier. We are excited for our future solar system. 🙂

For us we turn on the generator once a day for about an hour to charge up all of our batteries, keep the fridge cold, and of course to make a delicious cup of coffee with our espresso machine. We laugh every time we have to use the generator to make a “fancy” cup of coffee. 🙂

We live in a beautiful area, that has 300 days of sunshine. Nature is all around us. Deer, Elk, Moose, Bear, Mountain lion, wild Turkeys, Quails, and lots of different birds. We have a beautiful view of the cascades mountains. We can go fishing, hiking, skiing, etc.

Birds are chirping and eating from the feeder as Jazzy tries chasing them. My kids are wild and free. As soon as their heads hit the pillows, they are out. Their days are filled with laughter and happiness. Wildflowers are blooming, green grass is growing. Wild horses living amongst us. Spring is finally here.
