My Sourdough Journey

Hi, I’m Veronika, a former dental assistant turned stay-at-home mom who fell in love with sourdough baking. It took me years to bake my first successful loaf, but once I did, I knew I wanted to help others on their sourdough journey.

I wanted to focus on simple, natural living and making more homemade food for my family — and sourdough was the perfect fit. My early attempts didn’t go smoothly. I remember dough spreading like a flat pancake on my countertop! But through trial, error, and persistence, I finally mastered sourdough baking.

Why I Started This Blog

Once I figured out how to bake reliably with sourdough, I knew I wanted to help others avoid the frustration I experienced. Shakan Ranch is my space to share what I’ve learned, offer easy sourdough recipes, and support fellow home bakers on their own journey.
