Tools you may need:
Ingredients:
- Croissant: Serves as the base for the sandwich. The croissant’s buttery layers add a delightful crispiness when toasted, and its neutral flavor complements and supports the other ingredients. You can use store bought or homemade!
- Butter: Adds richness and moisture to the croissant. The butter also contributes to the toasting process, creating a golden exterior while infusing the sandwich with a buttery flavor. I love Kerigold grass fed unsalted butter.
- Cheese: Provides a creamy and savory element to the sandwich. I love Havarti for this sandwich. You can use any cheese but that will all change the taste.
- Salmon: The star ingredient, imparting a robust and savory flavor to the sandwich. I love buying smoked sliced salmon from Costco. 1- Smoked Norwegian salmon or 2 -Kirkland alaskan smoked sockeye salmon.
- Cucumber: It provides a fresh and crunchy texture, along with a mild and cooling contrast to the richness of the other components.
How to make smoked salmon croissant sandwich:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to lightly toast the croissants. Only if you are planning to toast them. You can also serve them as cold sandwiches.
- Slice the croissants in half horizontally, creating a top and bottom half for each sandwich.
- Spread a generous layer of unsalted butter on the cut sides of the bottom croissant half.
- Place a few slices of havarti cheese on the bottom half of each croissant.
- Layer smoked salmon slices on top of the cheese.
- Bring the top and bottom halves of the croissants together to assemble your sandwiches. Gently press to secure the layers.
- (Optional) Place the assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet and toast them in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes or until the croissants turn golden and the cheese starts to melt.
- Serve and enjoy!
