Potato Salad Recipe – Homestead Favorite! + Secret Ingredient

Every time I make this potato salad for anyone, they always want the recipe! Trust me when I tell you this is the best salad and its all thanks to a secret ingredient! One of my neighbors shared this recipe with me after I tried her salad and I make it every time now! One of the homesteads favorite foods I make. With one secret ingredient!

Tools you will need:

Ingredients:

  • Boiled yellow or red potatoes
  • Boiled farm fresh eggs
  • Carrots (optional if I don’t have in on hand I don’t stress it)
  • Celery (optional if I don’t have in on hand I don’t stress it)
  • Red onion (I had no red onion today, so I added green onion, therefore add any onion you have on hand)
  • Pickles
  • Cucumber (optional if I don’t have in on hand I don’t stress it)
  • Extra Crispy BACON
  • Mayo
  • Horseradish mustard (this is the secret ingredient, it adds a bit of a spice and most flavor!)
  • Mustard
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder

Directions:

  1. Boil potatoes
  2. Boil eggs
  3. Fry up some bacon
  4. While potatoes are boiling, dice carrots, celery, onion, cucumber into very small pieces. If I don’t have one of these ingredients, it’t optional and it will still taste great!
  5. Dice boiled potatoes into small pieces
  6. Peel boiled eggs and dice into small pieces
  7. Dice pickles
  8. Add in mayo, horseradish mustard, yellow or dijon mustard, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder (add all to desired taste and feel)
  9. ENJOY preferably cold!
